Job Summary
Director of Software Engineering to lead the AI-based Country Solutions Platform team in India. The role encompasses defining and executing the technical vision and roadmap for a multi-country, AI-driven platform, mentoring engineers and architects, and interfacing with country solution representatives and compliance partners. You will architect scalable, secure solutions for multi-country deployments with localization capabilities, oversee AI/ML model development, establish coding standards and QA processes, collaborate with product and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical specifications and delivery timelines, manage platform infrastructure, cloud resources, and DevOps practices to ensure performance, reliability, and cost efficiency, and drive modern development methodologies including Agile and CI/CD. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of software engineering, 5+ years in leadership, deep AI/ML expertise, strong cloud and distributed systems experience, microservices and API design proficiency, experience building SaaS platforms, containerization with Docker/Kubernetes, and a proven track record leading cross-functional teams in an Agile environment. Hybrid work is embraced. Candidates should also possess strong analytical and strategic decision-making abilities, stakeholder communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of professional software engineering experience
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering leadership or management roles
- Deep expertise in artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies, frameworks, and best practices
- Strong proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform) and distributed systems architecture
- Demonstrated experience building and scaling SaaS platforms or country-specific solutions with multi-region deployment capabilities
- Expert-level knowledge of microservices architecture, API design, and modern software design patterns
- Proficiency in multiple programming languages and frameworks relevant to AI/ML development
- Strong understanding of DevOps practices, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure-as-code principles
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make strategic technical decisions
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and drive organizational alignment
- Experience with Agile methodologies and iterative development processes
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and timelines
- Preferred Qualifications: multi-region deployments, localization/internationalization, finance/tax/invoicing familiarity, open-source contributions, AI model deployment/monitoring/optimization
