Job Summary
Lead CET software integration and autonomy strategy for the UUV family, developing mission-capable vehicle-level integrations and socializing systems strategy across engineering activities. Manage multi-program deliverable priorities to meet milestone commitments while providing expert leadership on core 3rd party autonomy solutions including MOAA, PCX, and Open UUV. Develop test strategies, devices, and systems to document designs and procedures, ensuring hardware architecture aligns with near-future mission needs through collaboration with electrical engineering. Occasional travel to demonstrations is required, with long hours and weekend work expected. Full-time, 40-hour week.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software/Electrical Engineering
- 7-10+ years professional software systems experience
- Passion for autonomy and software
- Ability to manage multi-program deliverable priorities to meet milestone commitments
- Proficient/understand software tools needed for all elements of development and debugging
- Experience working with underwater robotics/electronics
- Software testing and production release experience
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Must be a US Citizen
- Must possess ability to work in a standard office environment and on production floor
- Must possess ability to use standard office equipment, including a computer
- Must possess ability to walk and climb stairs
- Must possess ability to carry supplies, equipment, and materials up to 40 lbs.
- Must possess ability to read printed materials on computer screen
- Must possess ability to communicate in person and over the phone
- Must be available for weekend work
- Occasional travel to demonstrations is expected
Desired Qualifications
- MS+ preferred
- Experience UUVs and integrating subsea acoustic sensors
- Ability to work both independently and with a team
- Machine learning experience
