Job Summary
Director / Senior Director, New Product Planning at Lila Sciences sits at the interface of science, market, and deal structure to evaluate and shape early-stage life sciences assets. You will source and evaluate opportunities, build market sizing and deal-economic models, develop target product profiles and commercial theses, run primary and secondary research (KOLs, payer/clinician landscape), and shape partnership structures, collaborating with Science, Product, and Corporate Development to inform go/no-go decisions. The role requires 6-8+ years in related life sciences roles, strong scientific literacy, ability to translate biological fit into commercial strategy, hands-on modeling, industry-trend fluency, and excellent communication, thriving in high-ambiguity environments.
Required Qualifications
- 6-8+ years in new product planning, commercial assessment, asset strategy, or business development inside pharma, biotech, or life sciences settings
- Strong scientific literacy in life sciences; able to engage with scientists and external stakeholders and translate scientific nuance into commercial implications
- Demonstrated ability to match therapeutic modalities to disease areas with clear biological fit, unmet need, and competitive landscape
- Hands-on modeling experience: market sizing, patient population, forecasting, deal economics; able to build models from scratch and defend assumptions
- Active fluency in industry trends, pipeline movement, and deal activity across pharma and biotech
- Strong written and verbal communication; ability to distill complex analyses into crisp recommendations for senior leadership
- Comfort operating in high ambiguity with a bias toward building structure where none exists
