Job Summary
Lead privacy and security program in Japan as the Privacy and Security Leader, acting as the primary owner of privacy-related engagements with regulators and government entities. Govern and operate Privacy Information Management Systems (PIMS) and pursue Privacy Mark (P-Mark) certification, manage privacy reviews and incident lifecycles, and coordinate with KR/TW regional teams to localize privacy and security programs. Report to the Japan CISO, drive regulatory engagement with the Personal Information Protection Commission (PIPC), and build long-term trust with Japanese authorities while aligning with evolving regulatory expectations. Strong cross-functional collaboration, regulatory acumen, and excellent communication skills are required to succeed in this autonomous individual contributor role and eventual team-building trajectory.
Required Qualifications
- More than 5 years of experience in privacy/security compliance, including practical experience in leading large-scale privacy/security solutions involving cross-functional teams
- Strong understanding of privacy and security related regulatory requirements in Japan, including APPI
- Experience in privacy review and incident management
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
- Fluent Japanese and business-level English
