Job Summary
Drive access to key external innovations from biotech and biopharma companies globally for Cardiometabolic, Fertility, and Endocrinology areas. Lead scientific and technical assessment processes for potential partners, acquisitions, or licensing deals by taking full responsibility for Initial Assessments and presenting high-quality decision-making documents to the Investment Board. Partner with internal stakeholders to define partnering strategy, benchmark potential partners, and oversee filtering of opportunities including unsolicited submissions and VC portfolios. Build and maintain an external network while collaborating with Business Development colleagues to assess partnership viability and risks. Guide multi-functional teams to consolidate Investment Board decision-making documents and ensure seamless transitions to Due Diligence.
Required Qualifications
- University degree (PhD) in pharmaceutical science or an equivalent qualification
- High expertise
- Strong network
- Substantial R&D experience in respective investment priority field
Desired Qualifications
- 5+ years experience with 2+ years in BD&L / EI
- Thorough understanding of the pharmaceutical drug discovery/development process
- Scientific profile with substantial R&D experience
- Strong leadership acumen to lead cross functional teams to develop search scopes, External Innovation strategy and IAs
- Strong presentation skills enabling senior management decision making
