Job Summary
Coordinate all group transient and catering sales solicitations and bookings to maximize overall revenue. Develop and manage the division's annual budget, advertising, public relations, and sales plans to ensure the hotel meets revenue and profit goals. Proactively conduct outside sales calls, sales tours, and client entertainment while negotiating contract terms. Monitor top accounts, evaluate market trends, and train staff to capitalize on sales opportunities. Maintain visibility in local industry organizations and attend required meetings. Travel weekly as needed and act as directed by the General Manager in their absence.
Required Qualifications
- At least 2 years of progressive hotel sales experience
- 4-year college degree
- 2-year college degree
- Valid driver's license in the applicable state
- Highly developed verbal & written communication skills
- Thorough experience with professional selling skills: opening probing supporting closing
- Strong analytical skills and strategic vision in establishing appropriate sales deployment
- Proficiency in general computer knowledge especially Microsoft Office products
- Ability to work independently and simultaneously manage multiple tasks
- Strong organization and presentation skills
- Demonstrated ability to effectively interact and manage people of diverse socioeconomic cultural disability and ethnic backgrounds while solving complex problems and creating a productive sales team
- Advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the sales/marketing/hospitality profession
- Ability to work well in stressful high pressure situations; maintain composure and objectivity under pressure
- Ability to work with and understand financial information and data and basic arithmetic functions
