Director, Safety Programs and Training

Job Summary
Lead the planning, development, and execution of strategic corporate safety and training programs across MV Transportation. Oversee the creation of safety programs and communications that build brand awareness and promote frontline engagement, including breakroom discussions, alerts, and lessons learned derived from leading and lagging indicators. Ensure all initiatives meet federal, state, and local compliance standards while incorporating technological advancements like simulators and e-learning to enhance effectiveness. Collaborate with Corporate Communications to validate external messaging and maintain the safety content library on the internal SharePoint site. Develop and manage KPIs to track training execution, oversee train-the-trainer programs for drivers and staff, and coordinate responses to safety requirements from Business Development.
Required Qualifications

- Develop and maintain relationships with a broad array of stakeholders and industry groups in order to deliver effective, industry-leading solutions in training.

- The ability to establish a clear vision for communications and training to the business unit and foster teamwork to lead others in pursuit of that vision. This entails the ability to develop and clearly communicate goals that support the business objectives.
- The ability to supervise others and take responsibility for one's own performance and/or employees' performance by setting clear goals and expectations, tracking progress against goals, ensuring feedback, and addressing performance problems and challenges promptly.
- Bachelor's Degree Required
- Five (5) + years' experience developing and delivering safety and/or operations programs and training in transit or related industries.
- Proficiency with MS Office tools (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word)
- Demonstrated experience in enhancing safety culture, leading and lagging safety performance indicators.
- Ability to travel as required.
