Job Summary
Design, implement, and monitor compliance plans for OSHA, FMCSA, EPA, and electrical safety codes while coordinating with all departments to protect operations. Conduct investigations for claims and lawsuits, analyze contracts for indemnification, and oversee the DOT program including random drug/alcohol screenings and driver qualification files. Develop and supervise training programs for safety consciousness, establish accident reporting systems, and lead monthly safety committee meetings. Inspect facilities and crews to detect hazards, implement corrective action plans, and maintain safety files and records. Directly supervise one to two employees, handle liability complaints, and prepare monthly accident reports for the Board of Directors.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
- Five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Valid Georgia Driver's License
- CLCP Credentials
- OSHA 30 Hour Certificate
- Technical certification in electric field
- Ability to teach safety training programs
- Safety training techniques
- Training in OSHA Compliance
- Training in applicable Environmental Compliance
- Supervisory skills training
- Knowledgeable in Project Management techniques required
- Familiar with REA specifications and cooperative work practices
- Public or classroom training experience
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Microsoft Project, and Internet Explorer
