Director - SaaS Technical Lead

Job Summary
Director-level SaaS technical leadership role owning platform architecture, engineering delivery, and AI strategy for a multi-pillar enterprise SaaS product in supply chain risk intelligence. Leads 7–8 engineers, serves as technical advisor to account leadership and client stakeholders, and participates in pre-sales and engagement shaping. Responsibilities include end-to-end architecture across frontend, backend, data, and infrastructure; DevSecOps and release governance; vendor/tooling integration; client-oriented technical storytelling; and team development. Requires hands-on software development, broad API/integration design experience, cloud-native and security/compliance focus, and proven leadership in governance and scaling engineering teams.
Required Qualifications
- 8–10 years in application development with substantial technical leadership experience
- Proven architectural ownership spanning frontend, backend, data, and infrastructure
- Hands-on software development: writes production code and reviews PRs, engages with AI agents as development tools
- Experience with multi-protocol API design and integration patterns (scatter-gather, adapter, batch enrichment, event-driven)
- Platform operations expertise: DevSecOps, infrastructure as code, cloud-native infrastructure, security/compliance
- Engineering governance and team scaling: hiring, mentoring, and growing engineers to independence
- Strong client/stakeholder engagement and ability to communicate architectural concepts to non-technical executives
- Experience in pre-sales and engagement shaping; writing proposals; representing engineering in steering committees
- Desirable: supply chain, procurement, or trade compliance domain knowledge; enterprise risk; ESG; sanctions/screening data platforms; consulting or professional services delivery
- AWS cloud platform experience; infrastructure as code (Terraform or equivalent)
- Databricks or equivalent analytics platform
- Graph-based data modelling or relationship intelligence
- Experience building or growing a technical practice
- Experience with marketing and leadership communications in a consulting environment
