Job Summary
The Director of the Emergency Department is responsible for coordinating and directing nursing activities, ensuring compliance with standards of practice and regulatory requirements. Key duties include developing capital and operating budgets, policy development, quality improvement, and personnel management. The role involves participating in hospital committee activities and serving as a liaison between the Emergency Department and other departments. The Director provides leadership during on-call hours and monitors core measures and staff compliance.
Required Qualifications
- Must demonstrate knowledge of principles of growth and development
- Ability to assess data reflective of patient’s status
- Must be able to function effectively under stress
Desired Qualifications
- 5 years RN experience
- 2 years in critical care
- 2 years in a leadership role
