Director, Risk Management

Job Summary
Develop and execute the organization's enterprise risk management strategy, identifying, evaluating, and mitigating operational, regulatory, safety, and environmental risks across corporate offices, distribution centers, manufacturing, and retail locations. Establish key performance indicators to monitor organizational risk and present assessments to leadership while ensuring all safety programs, training, and procedures remain fully accessible to employees who are blind or visually impaired. Lead occupational health and safety initiatives, conduct audits and incident investigations, and manage DOT compliance including driver qualification files and FMCSA regulations. Partner with Finance, Human Resources, and operations to implement corrective actions and develop emergency preparedness plans. Work Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 4 PM in a hybrid role in Durham, NC.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Risk Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in risk management, environmental health and safety, occupational safety, or regulatory compliance
- Experience leading safety and compliance programs across multiple locations and diverse operational environments
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT/FMCSA, workers' compensation, and applicable federal and state regulations
- Experience conducting investigations, root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and project management skills

- Associate Safety Professional (ASP)
- Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM)
- Certified Risk Manager (CRM)
- OSHA 30-Hour Certification
- DOT Compliance Certification (preferred)
