Job Summary
Director, Revenue Cycle Management leads the organization’s billing, accounts receivable review, collections, payment posting, and patient financial services, shaping policies and best practices for reimbursement. Responsible for KPI-driven management of A/R, collection rates, write-offs, and estimates; partners with finance, compliance/legal, sales operations, managed care, and other teams to ensure compliant, fully integrated revenue cycle operations and timely revenue recognition. Oversees system evaluation, selection, and implementation of automation to streamline routine reimbursement tasks; develops headcount, budgeting, and process goals; ensures payer and patient-facing processes comply with HIPAA and regulatory requirements. Requires extensive experience in finance/operations, 5+ years in a leadership RCM role within healthcare, and a strong track record in improving billing and collection performance; bachelor’s degree required with master’s preferred, and medical billing certification preferred.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or other relevant discipline or equivalent combination of education and applicable job experience
- Master’s degree in relevant discipline, preferred
- Certification in Medical Billing, preferred
- 10+ years of experience in finance and/or operations
- 5+ years in an RCM leadership role within a healthcare system
- DME and pharmacy experience preferred
- Experience in a high volume, medical device, biotech, or pharmaceutical environment, preferred
- Track record for defining structure, personnel, processes, and measurements to meet billing and collection needs
- Knowledge of US GAAP, particularly revenue recognition rules preferred
- Strong understanding of healthcare billing, coding, and reimbursement principles and regulations
- Ability to communicate effectively across functional areas and present technical information
