Job Summary
Director, Real Estate Systems leads the technology platform strategy for GWL Realty Advisors’ national real estate portfolio, focusing on both Enterprise Systems (with primary focus on Yardi) and Building Systems (BMS, IoT, smart technologies). The role drives modernization, integration, governance, and continuous improvement across enterprise and building technologies, partners with stakeholders, leads issue resolution, ensures data integrity, and champions security/compliance and vendor relationships to enhance asset value and operational performance. Responsibilities include optimizing the Yardi platform and related enterprise applications, supporting upgrades (e.g., Voyager 8), aligning building technologies with enterprise/data platforms, driving best-practice adoption, managing complex incidents, and contributing to roadmaps and modernization initiatives, while leading cross-functional collaboration and maintaining accountability for system reliability, performance, and scalability.
Required Qualifications
- 7–10+ years of progressive experience with enterprise systems, preferably within a real estate or property management environment (Yardi preferred)
- Strong Yardi expertise, with deep functional and/or technical knowledge
- Proven hands-on troubleshooting and problem-solving capability, with the ability to lead issue resolution directly
- Demonstrated leadership experience with a strong ownership, accountability mindset, and financial acumen
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage both business and technical audiences
- Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, high-demand environments with competing priorities
- Solid operational discipline with a focus on system optimization and continuous improvement
- Exposure to building systems (BMS, IoT, smart building technologies) is considered an asset
