Job Summary
Director, R&D Bakery leads the bakery category strategy and oversees the local R&D team in Mississauga, driving profitable growth through new product development, customer collaboration, and cross-functional alignment with HQ. Responsibilities include strategic category leadership, development of innovative bakery solutions, capital expenditure and cost-reduction initiatives, and ensuring food safety, GMP compliance, and quality management. The role requires building strong customer relationships, acting as a technical expert for clients, delivering on-site support and presentations, and guiding talent development, performance reviews, and knowledge sharing within the team. Qualifications emphasize a Bachelor of Science in food science (Master’s preferred), extensive R&D leadership experience, and strong communication skills in English (French is an asset). 30% mobility and collaboration with global partners are expected.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in food science (required)
- Master of Science in food science (preferred)
- minimum 8 years R&D experience
- minimum 5 years in people management
- fluency in English; French optional
- proficiency with Windows OS
- excellent written and verbal communication skills
- up to 30% mobility
