Job Summary
Lead the Oregon Region Quality Management & Medical Staff Services division by establishing strategic objectives, directing clinical project portfolios, and ensuring regulatory compliance with CMS and The Joint Commission standards. Coordinate activities across Accreditation, Patient Safety, Risk Management, and Utilization Management while managing direct reports and developing leadership pipelines. Collaborate with physicians, executive leaders, and multidisciplinary teams to drive performance improvement initiatives, optimize resource use, and advance high-reliability behaviors across the region. This role requires a Bachelor's or Master's in Nursing with 7+ years of acute-care experience, reporting to the Executive, Oregon Region Quality and Medical Staff Services.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- Master's Degree in Nursing, Public Health, Business, or Healthcare Administration, or enrollment in a Master's program
- Oregon Registered Nurse License
- Completion of required background check per Providence policy
- 7+ years of nursing experience
- 5+ years in an acute‐care setting
- 5+ years of progressive leadership and management experience
- Demonstrated experience managing professional staff who work independently on complex initiatives
- Recent experience with CMS, The Joint Commission, state and federal surveys, and principles of high reliability
- Expert knowledge of CMS, TJC, and state/federal healthcare regulations
- Strong strategic thinking, planning, and business acumen, including finance and risk management
- Ability to lead large‐scale, strategic initiatives with significant organizational impact
- Excellent analytical, problem‐solving, and decision‐making skills
- Proven strength in collaboration, facilitation, conflict resolution, and change leadership
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills across diverse audiences
- Strong organizational skills, prioritization, and time management
- Commitment to teamwork, service excellence, and professional integrity
- Ability to lead with credibility, empathy, and calm in high‐pressure environments
- Knowledge of healthcare reform, reimbursement models, and evolving care delivery trends
- Work a hybrid schedule, which consists of three days onsite, two days remote and live within a reasonable commuting distance to the ministry or service area they support and lead
