Job Summary
Define and own the enterprise QA framework aligned to ASTQB principles, establishing a unified testing methodology spanning software delivery, data engineering pipelines, and analytics outputs. Drive adoption of structured acceptance criteria upstream with the Director of Informatics, creating a quality maturity model with measurable milestones. Own test strategy and execution standards for in-house applications, APIs, and portals, formalizing documentation, regression suites, and defect management processes. Mature the Data QA function to structured test plans, embedding validation checkpoints at ingestion, transformation, and delivery layers against Data Governance standards. Establish quality metrics dashboards tracking defect rates, escape rates, and test coverage for IT leadership. Requires 10+ years of progressive QA experience and deep familiarity with ASTQB frameworks. Reports to the Head of Information Technology in a hybrid role in Pittsburgh, PA.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive QA experience, including at least 3 years at a director or equivalent level
- Demonstrated experience maturing informal or under-structured QA teams, installing methodology where it did not previously exist
- Deep familiarity with ASTQB frameworks: test planning, test case design, defect lifecycle, and regression strategy
- Hands-on experience with QA in both software delivery and data/analytics environments
- Proven ability to lead through influence, building adoption across peer functions rather than relying solely on top-down authority within QA
- Strong communication skills; able to translate QA metrics and risk into language meaningful to non-technical executives
Desired Qualifications
- Healthcare, specialty pharmacy, or regulated industry experience, with exposure to clinical or operational data environments
- ISTQB/ASTQB certification (Foundation, Advanced, or Expert level)
- Familiarity with data quality frameworks (DAMA, TDQM) and data governance integration
- Experience with test automation frameworks (Selenium, Playwright, pytest, dbt tests, Great Expectations)
- Exposure to cloud-based data platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and modern data stack environments
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
