Job Summary
Lead governance and oversight of physician and advanced practice provider compensation programs, including reviewing external consultant recommendations and ensuring alignment with organizational strategy and regulatory requirements. Develop compensation policies, supervise provider compensation analysts, and serve as the primary liaison with external valuation firms to coordinate market reviews and fair market value assessments. Provide strategic advisory services to physician executives and operational leaders on compensation strategy, recruitment, retention, and succession planning while managing contract administration for professional services agreements and call pay arrangements. Ensure full compliance with Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, and Commercial Reasonableness standards through rigorous documentation and audit support.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, Business Administration, Finance, Human Resources, Accounting, or a related field
- Seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in healthcare compensation, physician services, physician operations, provider recruitment, healthcare finance, physician contracting, or a related field
- Three (3) years of leadership, project leadership, or management experience
- Must be proficient in the use of spreadsheet, presentation graphics, and data base software with the ability to integrate elements as needed
- Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must possess a great deal of independent judgment as it applies to discretion and decision making
- Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity, and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, vision, goals, and values of Northeast Georgia Health System
- Must be able to present to individual Physicians/Executive Leaders or large groups and manage own presentations
- Must be able to read, write, reason, talk, keyboard, and drive
Desired Qualifications
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP)
- Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP)
- MGMA certification or coursework
- Healthcare compliance or physician practice management certifications
- Master's degree in healthcare administration (MHA), Business Administration (MBA), Finance, Human Resources, or a related field
- Experience working with physician compensation plans, provider agreements, physician practice operations, or healthcare financial management
- Experience collaborating with external physician compensation consulting firms
- Experience supporting physician recruitment and retention initiatives
- Experience interpreting and implementing physician compensation models and incentive plans
- Experience presenting recommendations to senior leadership, physicians, and governance committees
- Experience in a large integrated healthcare system or multi-specialty medical group
