Job Summary
Director, Project Manager for City Research Scientist IV within the NYC Department of Social Services' Office of Planning Management, Business Process Innovation (BPI). Responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing major agency projects aligned with agency and Mayoral priorities, leading project teams and vendor collaborations, developing project plans and status updates for executive leadership, supervising staff, and applying standardized project management approaches. Includes conceptualizing research/design frameworks, conducting data analysis to inform program development and evaluation, maintaining executive reporting and initiative tracking, and supporting cross-agency collaboration to advance city priorities. Work location at 4 WTC/150 Greenwich Street, NYC; hours 9-5. Requires advanced degrees (Master’s or Doctorate) in relevant physical, biological, environmental, or social sciences or public health, with supervisory/administrative/research experience as specified for senior levels. The role emphasizes stakeholder engagement, governance, and the implementation of standardized PM tools across initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree from an accredited college or university with specialization in physical, biological, environmental science or public health for Assignment Level I; Doctorate degree from an accredited college or university with specialization in physical, biological, environmental or social science and one year of supervisory/administrative/research experience for Assignment Level II and above; OR Master's degree with three years of responsible full-time research experience; OR equivalent combination of education and experience with at least a Master's degree and two years of relevant experience.
