Job Summary
Director, Next Wave, Program Management to serve as the primary operational partner for the Next Wave Program Team. The Next Wave team advances Scholar Rock’s portfolio from translation to clinical proof-of-concept, with the Director responsible for the team’s day-to-day functionality, cross-functional workflows, critical action capture and follow-up, and risk mitigation. Responsibilities include governance of team interactions, information flow across functions, and proactive risk management; portfolio execution and scenario planning to manage multiple programs with shared resources. The role reports to the VP, Head of Program Leadership & Management and requires collaboration with the Program Leader to ensure alignment, rigor, and progress across development programs at different stages.
Required Qualifications
- MS or BS Degree in a Scientific or related field
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology drug development, with specific experience leading teams through Ph1 and Ph2 clinical study start-up
- Strong knowledge of early-to-mid stage clinical development including regulatory milestones, clinical operation activities and CMC needs
- Experience across the drug lifecycle from translation to Ph2 clinical trials
- Day-one ability to develop and implement project management best-practices utilizing tools (e.g., Smartsheet, MS Project)
- Discretion handling confidential and potentially material information with professional judgment and integrity
- Low-ego, high-output mindset with willingness to own tasks of all sizes
- Willingness to partner with Program Leader and operate as the operational anchor for multiple development programs
