Job Summary
Director-level product design leadership for ForeFlight’s aviation software, shaping UX strategy and execution across major product initiatives, including AI-enabled aviation workflows. Lead and grow Product Design, UX Research, and Design Systems teams; establish design best practices to improve usability, safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction; collaborate with Product, Engineering, Data Science, and AI teams to deliver customer value; drive design systems evolution, and advocate for responsible AI, transparency, and human oversight in AI-enabled aviation experiences. Emphasizes collaboration across distributed teams, navigating a highly regulated, safety-critical environment, and delivering measurable business impact through user-centered design and data-informed decisions. Prototyping and iterative learning accelerate alignment and decision-making, with a focus on scalable design systems and high-quality product execution across platforms.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of product design experience
- 3+ years leading design teams
- Portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product design leadership, systems thinking, and measurable business impact
- Experience leading design initiatives for complex software products
- Strong cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management
- Experience partnering with Product and Engineering teams
- Experience contributing to or scaling design systems
- Experience driving initiatives across multiple product teams
- Understanding of modern AI product development and user experience principles
- Ability to communicate design decisions to technical and non-technical audiences
- Proficiency with modern design tools such as Figma
