Job Summary
Director/Principal Counsel, AI Governance lead responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing privacy-centric governance for AI development and deployment. Develop and maintain AI governance programs, policy frameworks, incident response processes, risk management taxonomy, data governance standards, and transparency documentation. Collaborate with Product, Security, Legal, and Engineering to ensure compliance with international AI laws and privacy regulations, address bias and discrimination, and uphold ethical standards. Lead policy development, AI risk and quality management, and disclosures related to AI outputs while guiding contractual safeguards and training on AI policies. Remote role in the United States with cross-functional leadership responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
- At least seven (7) years experience in privacy, compliance, or governance roles, with three (3) years focused on AI or data-centric products
- Strong knowledge of international AI regulatory frameworks (e.g., EU AI Act), global privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), and discrimination/bias standards
- Experience designing policies, templates, QMS, and documentation for regulated technologies
- Familiarity with incident response, risk management taxonomies, and model performance monitoring
- Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Legal counterparts, and Security teams; excellent communication skills
