Job Summary
Lead business assessments for integrating power generation and microgrid solutions into data centers, ensuring reliability, efficiency, and sustainability. Formulate energy procurement strategies and source, structure, and negotiate commercial supply agreements for natural gas, liquid fuels, and alternative feedstocks. Evaluate emerging technologies such as hydrogen fuel cells and small modular reactors while managing regulatory risk through utility tariff tracking. Direct negotiations for multi-megawatt microgrids and interconnection agreements, integrating diverse assets including utility feeds, solar, and battery storage. Maximize microgrid monetization via grid services and energy arbitrage, while managing capital and operational expenditure budgets. Build financial models to justify energy investments. Requires 8+ years of experience in energy infrastructure and wholesale power markets.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Economics, or a related technical field
- 8+ years of experience in navigating large-customer commercial energy issues, energy infrastructure, microgrid development, or power systems engineering
- Experience in physical natural gas markets, including gas trading, transportation, storage and scheduling
- Strong commercial mindset to evaluate market dynamics
- Deep knowledge of wholesale power markets (ERCOT, PJM, CAISO, MISO) and utility rate structures
- In-depth understanding of PPA structures and the ability to negotiate complex agreements
