Director -Policy and Research (Commerical Insurance)

Job Summary
Director in Policy and Research responsible for policy development and regulatory analysis in the commercial health insurance markets, including ERISA/ACA oversight, insurer and PBM actions affecting patient coverage and access. Lead creation of talking points and materials for federal/state advocacy, analyze legislation and regulations, manage external consultants, deliver presentations, and support engagement with employer, insurance, and patient groups. Requires expertise in health policy analysis, strong communication, and ability to manage multiple policy projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- 6+ years of experience in legislative or regulatory policy and/or advocacy
- Strong writing that communicates clearly and persuasively on advocacy issues
- Strong verbal communication and presentation skills
- Ability to synthesize, distill and clearly communicate complex ideas to a non-technical audience
- Be an adaptable, creative problem solver, who is comfortable working in a high-pressure environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills that foster the ability to design and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Preferred: Master’s degree in public policy or related field
- Prior experience on Capitol Hill, or at HHS, or state regulatory bodies, PBM, health insurer, or related organizations
- Experience in ERISA, ACA, Health Insurance Marketplaces, or state-regulated health insurance
