Job Summary
Director, Philanthropy (Corporate & Foundation) at a remote-first nonprofit (NMSI) leading fundraising strategies, donor cultivation, and donor-facing communications. Responsible for portfolio management, cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and reporting across corporate and foundation funders; develop compelling proposals, impact narratives, and collateral; identify new philanthropic prospects; represent NMSI at external events; collaborate with Program, Finance, Marketing, Evaluation, and Business Development teams; leverage CRM to track donor activity and progress; role requires strong writing, project management, relationship-building, and comfort working across time zones. Remote-first with occasional in-person travel; full-time, regular position with flexibility to work from anywhere within the contiguous United States.
Desired Qualifications
- Five+ years in fundraising, corporate and/or foundation relations, institutional giving, business development, or related field
- Demonstrated success cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding significant philanthropic partnerships
- Strong writing and storytelling skills for proposals, reports, and donor communications
- Project management skills with ability to manage donor portfolios, timelines, and internal coordination
- Relationship-minded and collaborative team orientation across departments
- Adaptability and strategic learning mindset to grow into portfolio leadership
- Technical proficiency with CRM tools (Salesforce preferred) and data-driven storytelling
- Experience representing organization at conferences, meetings, site visits, and donor events
- Ability to work remotely with discipline and effective communication across time zones
