Job Summary
Provide strategic and operational leadership for Medical Surgical Services, leading initiatives that improve patient safety, quality outcomes, and operational efficiency. Partner closely with physician leadership and interdisciplinary teams to achieve clinical, operational, and organizational objectives while ensuring compliance with The Joint Commission standards, National Patient Safety Goals, and New Jersey Department of Health regulations. Mentor nurse managers and frontline leaders to strengthen capabilities, implement innovative care delivery models, and foster a culture of accountability and shared governance. Utilize performance metrics and data analytics to drive continuous quality improvement and optimize operational performance within this 519-bed Level I Trauma Center.
Required Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New Jersey
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Master's degree in Nursing
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible clinical and administrative nursing leadership experience
- Minimum of three (3) years of management experience within Medical Surgical Services
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in a large academic medical center or complex healthcare organization
- Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex healthcare operations
- Strong leadership, communication, collaboration, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to lead organizational change, improve clinical outcomes, and optimize operational performance
- Experience with process redesign, Lean, Six Sigma, or other quality improvement methodologies
- Certification in Quality Improvement techniques
- Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
