Job Summary
Lead payroll strategy and team for multi-state and Canada payroll; ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and Canada payroll tax laws; oversee weekly and semi-monthly payroll processing; manage payroll tax filings, deductions, and year-end activities (W-2s); drive internal controls, audits, and SOX compliance; mentor and develop a high-performing payroll team, manage external providers, and continuously improve payroll systems and processes; require CPP certification and a Bachelor's degree; 10+ years of payroll management experience including leadership in a large, multi-state organization; located in Nashville, TN.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) required
- Minimum 10+ years of progressive payroll management experience
- 5+ years in a leadership/director role
- Experience with multi-state payroll including Canada
- Knowledge of FLSA, FMLA, and state wage/hour laws
- Experience with major payroll/HRIS systems
- Strong leadership and communication skills
