Job Summary
Oversee end-to-end payroll operations for all employees across provinces and multi-states, ensuring accurate and timely processing of wages, bonuses, commissions, and deductions. Maintain compliance with federal, provincial, and local payroll regulations while managing audits, reporting, and year-end activities such as T4s and W-2s. Lead strategy for employee benefits programs including health, dental, and retirement plans, benchmarking offerings and managing annual renewals and open enrollment. Manage relationships with brokers and vendors, monitor costs, and ensure adherence to ERISA and ACA regulations. Lead and mentor the payroll and benefits team, collaborate with HR, Finance, and Legal, and oversee HRIS/payroll system integrations and data security.
Required Qualifications
- 7–10+ years of progressive experience in payroll, benefits administration
- Experience with tax regulations, payroll deductions, retirement plans, and leave management programs
- Knowledge in employment standards and labor laws
- Experience in budgeting and financial analysis
- Several years of leadership or management experience supervising payroll and benefits teams
- Experience with large-scale payroll systems and benefits programs
Desired Qualifications
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) or Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) in Canada
