Job Summary
Director, Patient Care (Emergency Department) leads the ED and CCC, directing day-to-day operations, staffing, budgeting, and process improvement to deliver high-quality, efficient patient care in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Responsible for implementing departmental goals and strategic plans, promoting physician input, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a compassionate, safe patient and staff experience. Requires a BSN with Texas license and 5 years of progressive clinical/leadership experience; MSN preferred; certifications in BLS/ACLS and trauma as applicable; familiarity with Level 2 Trauma designation and coordinating across ED and trauma services.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing required; MSN obtained or in pursuit preferred
- Current State of Texas nursing license or temporary/compact license to practice professional nursing
- Professional Certification in clinical area or management within one year of hire preferred
- Five (5) years of progressive clinical experience; ED/trauma leadership experience preferred
- Experience directing day-to-day operations, staffing, budgeting, and process improvement in an ED setting
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills; ability to coordinate cross-functional teams
- Ability to adhere to regulatory requirements and standards (Texas Board of Nursing, hospital policies)
- Experience with budget forecasting, staffing optimization, and performance metrics
