Job Summary
Director of Used Vehicles leading a pre-owned department within a growing automotive group. Responsible for inventory strategy, pricing, and profitability; oversee sourcing via auctions, trades, and direct purchases; appraise trade-ins, monitor aging inventory, merchandize appropriately, and drive sales performance. Lead and coach the used-vehicles team, collaborate with finance/service/leadership, manage department KPIs, and ensure compliance with policies and manufacturer standards while delivering an outstanding customer experience.
Required Qualifications
- Previous Used Car Manager experience or strong automotive sales management background
- Proven track record of driving sales performance and department profitability
- Strong knowledge of appraisals, auctions, inventory acquisition, and market-based pricing strategies
- Leadership mentality with the ability to motivate and develop teams
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills
- Analytical mindset with strong decision-making abilities
- Customer-focused approach and commitment to delivering exceptional service
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- High school diploma required; college degree preferred
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings and weekends
