Job Summary
Director of the Office of Clinical Experiences at Texas A&M University-San Antonio leads and supervises the OCE, oversees clinical placements, school district partnerships, and TEA/TAC compliance to support teacher certification. This 12-month administrative position with Clinical Assistant Professor faculty status manages the unit's budget, supervises faculty, designs training for Host and Cooperating Teachers, organizes events, analyzes data, maintains partnerships with districts, and coordinates with college leadership to ensure compliance and effective field-based experiences. The role collaborates on professional development initiatives, maintains OCE communications and documents, and supports field experiences, credentialing, and accreditation processes. The successful candidate will be a collaborative leader with expertise in preparing students for teaching careers and will work with district partners and college faculty to enhance placement opportunities and outcomes for teacher candidates and first-year in-service graduates.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in related field
- Ten (10) years of related experience in management
- Two (2) years of progressively responsible administrative experience, including experience with budget management and personnel supervision
- A minimum of five (5) years of teaching experience in an EC-12 public school setting
