Job Summary
Secure, maintain, and distribute instructional and operational technology including Chromebooks, projectors, and online services. Provide on-the-spot technical support to staff and students while training and supervising student volunteers for maintenance tasks. Anticipate technology needs to create acquisition plans, manage budgets, and track building resources via grants. Develop custom IT solutions such as scheduling spreadsheets and website interfaces, and implement policies for device usage and testing protocols for MCAS, SAT, and MAP. Assist with yearly generation of teacher and student schedules and coordinate stipended technology coordinators.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree in educational technology, information technology, computer science, or a related field
- Massachusetts license for Director/Supervisor
- Significant professional experience in a technology leadership role
- Proven track record of successfully managing technology projects and initiatives
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly and persuasively
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment
- Deep understanding of the role of technology in education and its potential to transform teaching and learning
- Ability to manage budgets and resources effectively, ensuring the efficient use of technology investments
- Advanced proficiency with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Google Docs, Google Sheets, and online databases
- Current authorization to work in the United States
Desired Qualifications
- Teaching experience in an urban, K-12 educational setting
- Experience as a school administrator
- Experience in Grant writing and fundraising
- Fluency in one of BPS' official languages: Spanish, Creole (Cape Verdean), Creole (Haitian), Chinese, Vietnamese, Portuguese, & Somali
