Job Summary
Director of Student Success at Mount Marty University overseeing General Academic Advising, Counseling and the Center for Academic Excellence to support student success, retention, and completion. Leads program development and implementation for advising, retention-driven activities (New Student Registration, First Year Advising, Transfer Advising, General Academic Advising, GEN 102), coordinates and supervises academic advisors and staff, coordinates centralized educational support services (peer tutoring, academic skills development, academic counseling/coaching), manages teletherapy usage and liaison to campus resources, collaborates with faculty and student organizations to implement strategic initiatives, and ensures compliance with state/federal guidelines and FERPA. The role requires building productive relationships with students and campus colleagues, serving as a liaison to campus resources, and remaining up-to-date on advising, career development, accessibility, and student success concepts.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in relevant field (e.g., English, education, special education, psychology, counseling)
- Three years in counseling, advising, and/or teaching in higher education
- Experience with learning and skills assessments
- Familiarity with college student development and postsecondary learning strategies
- Strong writing and oral communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to develop and monitor individual success plans
- Demonstrated ability to motivate students of diverse backgrounds in culturally responsive ways
- Knowledge of FERPA and ethical principles in working with students
- Commitment to the mission of Mount Marty University
