Job Summary
Director of Student Services leads and coordinates district-wide student services initiatives, including the District’s disciplinary policies, 504 coordination, Waivers, Foster Care, Truancy, McKinney-Vento, Nursing and Health Services, and related legal/policy compliance. Serves as District Hearing Officer for Waivers/Discipline and as HIB Compliance Officer; oversees Crisis Response Team activation and communications; partners with administrators and counselors to support 504 issues, threat assessments, MTSS/PBIS implementation, and culturally responsive practices; guides governance with the Executive Director of Organizational Change and Student Advancement; supervises the Nursing and Health Services Supervisor, the Student Services Specialist, and the Truancy Specialist; leads annual updates to the Rights and Responsibilities Handbook; manages district grants and programs addressing attendance barriers; maintains knowledge of applicable laws, policies, and district procedures; engages in data analysis, reporting, and staff training; collaborates with multiple departments to implement district-wide initiatives and ensure equitable outcomes for all students.
Required Qualifications
- Washington State Program Administrator or Washington State Administrator Certification required
- Bachelor’s Degree obtained; Master’s Degree desirable
- Minimum five years of administrative experience in a complex educational organization
- Demonstrated successful building-level administrator experience preferred in relation to Student Services related responsibilities
- Knowledge of discipline laws, policies, and procedures; ability to interpret laws and regulations
- Ability to develop and provide trainings; ability to compile, analyze, utilize, and present data
