Job Summary
Director of Student Services coordinates and provides educational direction for all specialized education programs within District 46. Oversees Early Childhood Education, ensures compliance with special education (SPED/504) and related regulations, chairs IEP-related processes, manages district budgets and Medicaid funding, prepares program evaluations, and collaborates with district leadership to implement learning initiatives and evidence-based practices across student services. The role requires leadership across administrative functions, oversight of ESY and health services, data reporting, and partnership with principals and families to align services with district objectives.
Required Qualifications
- Must hold and be eligible for a current Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with an Administrative endorsement.
- Director of Special Education endorsement required.
- ISBE Teacher and Principal Qualified Evaluator
- Masters' Degree or higher in educational leadership or special education
- Minimum of five years of experience in special education administration
- Minimum of ten years of progressive building or district administrator experience
- Superintendent endorsement preferred.
