Job Summary
Directs administration of Student Financial Services by establishing goals, enforcing policies, and managing financial clearance processes for Title IV and state funds. Interprets federal and state aid regulations to advise staff, prepares required reports, and complies with all compliance standards. Manages financial aid awards for Adventist Colleges Abroad, administers veteran's benefits, and conducts seminars to counsel students on debt management. Supervises one Associate Director, three Financial Advisors, one Loan Officer, and three to four student employees, including hiring, training, and performance appraisals. Reports to the Associate Vice President of Enrollment with direct oversight of a team responsible for recruiting, enrollment, and retention.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Four to ten years related experience and/or training
- Superior command of English grammar and spelling
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Exceptional presentation and public speech ability
- Ability to analyze financial documents statistical data using mathematical formulas and tools
- Working knowledge and application of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Proficiency in use of Student Information Systems
- Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables
- Ability to apply logical or scientific methods to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems
- Must exhibit leadership skills
- Possesses capacity for planning, organizing and controlling
- Advanced skills in team building, motivation, and conflict resolution
- Must be able to work long hours under stressful conditions
- Must be able to frequently be called upon
