Director of Strategic Sourcing

Job Summary
Directs and executes the company’s global sourcing strategy for rare earth oxides, metals, alloys, consumables, capital equipment, and services to support domestic magnet production. Builds a scalable strategic sourcing organization, manages supplier relationships across domestic and international markets, leads long-term supply agreements and cost-structure negotiations, and develops resilience through dual sourcing, geographic diversification, and contingency planning. Collaborates with Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Quality, Finance, Logistics, and Trade Compliance to support new product introduction, supplier qualification, and production scale-up; conducts make-versus-buy analyses and total cost of ownership evaluations; defines KPIs for supplier performance, cost savings, risk mitigation, and sourcing effectiveness; supports government, defense, and commercial customer requirements for supply chain security and transparency.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management within manufacturing environments (critical minerals, aerospace, automotive, or battery materials)
- 6+ years of demonstrated leadership experience managing sourcing, procurement, or supply chain organizations
- Experience sourcing critical raw materials, specialty metals, industrial chemicals, advanced materials, or complex manufacturing equipment
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, Materials Science, or a related technical field
- Familiarity with ERP, MRP, procurement, supplier relationship management, and supply chain planning systems
- Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities
- MBA, CPSM, CSCP, CPM or related professional certification preferred
