Job Summary
Director of Strategic Investments at LACAHSA leads underwriting, credit analysis, and closing oversight for capital deployment in multifamily affordable housing finance; responsible for evaluating projects, preparing credit reports, and presenting to senior management, while mentoring credit analysts and closing coordinators, developing training programs and coordinating with internal/external partners to advance affordable housing production, preservation, and ownership; requires a bachelor’s degree in economics, accounting, or finance and at least 10 years of experience in underwriting/closing multifamily affordable housing, plus strong leadership and communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, accounting, and/or finance
- 10 years of on-the-job experience evaluating, underwriting, and closing multifamily affordable housing.
- Proven leadership capabilities with experience managing teams and fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills; ability to develop and facilitate training, workshops, stakeholder meetings, and executive-level presentations.
- Strong understanding of lending practices, credit risk assessment, loan closings, and community development finance
- Valid California Driver's License – Required
- LIHTC, Tax-Exempt Bond, and Public Funding Program Expertise
- Technical Skills: Multifamily Affordable Housing Underwriting, Financial Modeling & Pro Forma Analysis, Loan Structuring, Closing & Portfolio Management, Credit Risk Assessment & Investment Analysis
- Advanced Microsoft Excel (Financial Modeling, Forecasting, and Reporting)
- Licenses / Certifications: Valid California Driver's License – Required
