Job Summary
Director of Strategic Communications will design and lead integrated communications campaigns for priority campaigns and spokespeople, oversee a team of communications strategists, manage budgets and external vendors, and coordinate with legal, advocacy, policy, and development partners. The role includes developing messaging, leveraging earned/paid/owned media, and guiding communications for significant issues; leading rapid-response efforts, building relationships with media, and contributing to brand awareness and thought leadership across immigration, human rights, racial justice, and criminal justice portfolios.
Required Qualifications
- Experience with integrated communications strategies across advocacy, legal, and public policy contexts
- Strong writing and editing skills across multiple materials and styles
- Proven ability to manage teams of communications professionals and external vendors
- Ability to develop and execute large-scale, multi-issue communications campaigns
- Experience coordinating with legal, advocacy, policy, and development colleagues
- Knowledge of immigration, human rights, racial justice, and criminal justice issues is preferred
- Demonstrated ability to respond rapidly with crisis communications and stakeholder engagement
