Job Summary
Conduct Quality Assurance observations of Pilot Instructors during initial employment and randomly thereafter to ensure competency in training FlightSafety International's Customers. Provide hands-on supervision and mentorship for New Hire Instructors, including scheduling their training, assigning mentors, and conducting Performance Appraisal conferences. Act as a Ground and Flight Instructor as required, while establishing in-house training programs to maintain and improve Instructor teaching skills. Direct departmental staff meetings, participate in the selection process for Pilot Instructors, and ensure Learning Center compliance with all regulatory requirements. May assume Maintenance Standards responsibilities depending on local center needs.
Required Qualifications
- Ten (10) years of related experience
- Three (3) to four (4) years of management experience
- Minimum of six (6) months experience in a teaching/training environment, especially where the material is designed for adults (over 18 years) participants
- Associate degree (A.A) from a two-year college or technical school preferred
- Must possess physical range of body motion to perform the following: Reach, exert pressure and manipulate the rudder controls and/or anti-torque with both feet
- Reach and manipulate numerous controls within the Simulator device from the Instructor's chair
- Enter and exit from the Simulator device via the provided ramp
- Move between the Instructor station, screen and podium while instructing in the classroom
- Exit from malfunctioned Simulator while the device is in a severely pitched attitude
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Must be able to comply with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR)
- Must qualify as a 'U.S. Person' under applicable regulations or otherwise eligible for export authorization
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance for the duration of employment
- Must successfully complete required compliance reviews, including verification that the candidate is not prohibited from employment under U.S. economic sanctions programs administered by the U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC)
