Job Summary
Director of Spiritual Programming designs, leads, and sustains an inclusive, trauma-informed spiritual life program for young adults ages 18–24, overseeing SPARK (Spirituality, Purpose, and Resilience for Youth) to foster emotional wellness, authentic relationships, resilience, and joy. Provides one-on-one pastoral counseling and crisis support with a focus on diverse beliefs, facilitates optional spiritual programming (meditation, mindfulness, prayer circles), organizes interfaith and faith-based programming, collaborates with YES, case managers, and partners to coordinate care, and ensures proper documentation and compliance. Responsibilities include trauma-informed program design, youth-led groups and discussions, biblical study facilitation, interdisciplinary collaboration, crisis de-escalation, and reporting on participation and outcomes. Requirements include a bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred), ordination or pastoral credentials, 3+ years working with vulnerable populations, strong trauma-informed practice, and experience with LGBTQIA+/BIPOC/non-faith-identifying youth; plus safety, transparency, mutuality, empowerment, and cultural responsiveness as core competencies. Must be comfortable in a residential setting with flexible evenings/weekends and pass a background check with trauma-informed training.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Theology, Pastoral Counseling, Divinity, Social Work, Psychology, or related field (Master’s preferred)
- Ordination, certification, or equivalent pastoral credentials
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working with vulnerable or traumatized populations
- Demonstrated understanding of trauma-informed care, youth development, and harm-reduction principles
- Experience working with diverse communities, including LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, and non-faith-identifying youth
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and crisis management skills
