Job Summary
Director of Software Engineering at JPMorganChase to lead a technical area within Consumer and Community Banking, driving end-to-end, low-latency solutions, championing engineering practices, governance, AI-enabled delivery workflows, and collaboration with product and business groups to ensure successful delivery and measurable improvements in speed, quality, and operational outcomes. Responsibilities include stakeholder engagement to translate complex problems into technical specs, setting technology roadmaps, driving cloud adoption (AWS), ensuring secure, scalable, and resilient architectures, mentoring teams, and leading cross-functional initiatives across departments.
Required Qualifications
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts
- 10+ years applied experience in software engineering
- 5+ years of experience leading technologists
- Extensive hands-on experience with cloud-native distributed systems
- Java Spring experience
- PostgreSQL and Oracle databases
- Experience with cloud technologies (AWS)
- Experience leading adoption of agentic AI-enabled engineering practices
- Understanding of responsible AI use and governance in engineering workflows
- Ability to communicate requirements to stakeholders and align technical solutions with product goals
- Experience guiding architectural decisions and SDLC governance
