Job Summary
Director of Engineering to lead one of JPM PI Brokerage areas, partnering with Product and Business stakeholders to translate strategy into executable roadmaps, overseeing multiple high-impact engineering teams based in Madrid and London, driving scalable, secure, and compliant software delivery, shaping technical strategy, mentoring managers and engineers, and owning incident management and post-incident reviews to improve reliability and reduce toil.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a software engineer
- 10+ years in positions of technical leadership
- Strong product and business mindset
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management across technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience with modern architectures (distributed systems, cloud-native, event-driven)
- Experience leading and scaling agile teams delivering high-availability systems
- Hands-on familiarity with AWS, JVM, Kafka and/or relational and NoSQL databases
- Full English working proficiency
