Job Summary
Director of Software Development role leading West Shore Home's Digital Product team (Lighthouse Studio) with accountability for strategic direction, architecture, standards, and cross-functional collaboration. Responsible for aligning software initiatives with the product roadmap, driving engineering culture, and advancing AI-assisted development tooling. Lead and develop Software Development Managers and Staff Software Developers, enforce coding best practices, security, monitoring, and quality benchmarks across web, mobile, and supporting technologies. Requires 10+ years of software development experience with 5+ years in leadership, strong stakeholder communication, and expertise in Agile/Scrum and DevSecOps, along with cloud-based development and CI/CD proficiency. Location is Saint Paul, MN with HYBRID work (2 days remote, 3 days in office). Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship is required.
Required Qualifications
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without requiring employer sponsorship
- 10+ years of progressive software development experience with 5+ years of software development leadership experience
- Demonstrated track record of setting technical strategy and driving architecture decisions in a product-driven environment
- Experience providing input and recommendations on tooling selection, vendor evaluation, and third-party development partnerships in collaboration with leadership
- Demonstrated exceptional leadership and communication skills with ability to inspire and develop a high-performing technical organization
- Deep understanding of Agile/Scrum and DevSecOps
- Proficiency with cloud-based development environments, CI/CD pipelines, and software architecture patterns
- Ability to lead and develop Software Development Managers and Staff Software Developers
- Must be authorized to work in the United States at time of application; no visa sponsorship
