Job Summary
Director of Social Services leads the social services department in a skilled nursing facility, coordinating emotional support, counseling, and care planning; liaises with residents, families, and an interdisciplinary team to ensure high-quality care; manages social service programs, discharge planning, and regulatory compliance; supervises staff and maintains accurate documentation in line with state and federal regulations; requires a Bachelor's in Social Work with an LSW license and 35-38 hours of relevant experience; MS preferred and strong leadership and communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work (BSW) required; Master’s degree preferred
- Current state license (LSW or equivalent) in good standing
- at least 35-38 hours of experience
- Knowledge of federal and state regulations related to long-term care
- Strong communication, counseling, and leadership skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams
