Job Summary
Drive social media strategy for the Portland Fire by building and managing a cross-platform content calendar to support key milestones, campaigns, and brand moments. Generate compelling written, visual, and video content that drives engagement while collaborating with internal teams, players, and agencies to develop culturally relevant material. Travel with the team to capture in-the-moment, behind-the-scenes, and game-day footage, fostering authentic fan connections through direct community management. Analyze performance metrics including channel growth and campaign impact to deliver regular reports on social media effectiveness. Maintain a consistent tone aligned with the WNBA Portland brand while identifying emerging trends for expanded reach.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years in digital media with experience leading social media strategy
- Demonstrated experience capturing and producing live content within sports or entertainment
- Exceptional storytelling skills with proven ability to create engaging content in visual and written mediums
- Comprehensive understanding of social media platforms and their respective best practices
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to travel and work on nights and weekends as the team's schedule dictates
- Comfortable delivering, receiving and implementing creative feedback
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in content creation tools and software
- Experience in social media tools and analytics platforms
- Passion for WNBA, basketball culture, and women's sports
