Job Summary
Director of Security Engineering at JPMorganChase leads at least one technical security engineering area and drives multi-year strategy while remaining hands-on in code reviews, architectural design, and end-to-end lifecycle ownership of security governance for SaaS. The role acts as a lead architect and coder ensuring guardrails are integrated across hybrid-cloud environments, balancing financial regulation and resiliency, and delivering security solutions across multiple teams. Responsibilities include engineering leadership across firmwide security products, hands-on contribution to code and critical system components, integration of security controls with a Security-by-Design mindset, resource/budget decisions, scalable security solutions usable across multiple businesses, mentoring and scaling a security/software engineering team, and fostering a culture of diversity and inclusion.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of software engineering and security experience
- 5+ years experience running teams of engineers that deliver security solutions operations on cloud-based platforms and applications
- Full-Stack Mastery: Expert-level proficiency in multiple coding solutions, with a track record of building secure, scalable distributed systems
- Experience building security engineering products and solutions for public cloud-based applications and infrastructure
- Security Foundation: Deep technical knowledge of OAuth2, OIDC, SAML, and TLS/SSL protocols within a CASB or Proxy context.
- Integration Powerhouse: Proven experience integrating complex security platforms across Hybrid-Cloud environments (AWS/Azure/Private Cloud).
- Experience hiring, developing, and recognizing talent
- Experience leading a product as a product owner or product manager
- Education: BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience.
