Job Summary

Lead the city's sanitation division, directing waste control and disposal methods including source reduction, recycling, reuse, and landfilling for approximately 11,000 residential and commercial accounts. Manage a team of over 27 employees and oversee a $2.8 million budget while reporting to the Deputy City Manager. Collect, recycle, and dispose of trash, recyclables, and yard waste weekly, with biannual bulk item collection for furniture and appliances. Serve as a strategic leader responsible for elevating service delivery and protecting human health within the historic University City community.

Required Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in environmental management, engineering, public or business administration, or a related field
  • Five to seven years of experience with equipment operation and progressive managerial experience supervising labor crews or a comparable combination of education and experience

Desired Qualifications

  • Candidates with both municipal and/or relevant private sector experience in waste management or environmental services
