Job Summary
Director of Sales role overseeing hotel sales, supervising a sales team, developing new accounts, managing group/transient/convention business, coordinating with marketing and revenue management, and ensuring attainment of revenue and profitability goals. Responsibilities include hiring and evaluating staff, qualifying leads, managing rate/inventory, executing sales strategies within budget, building client relationships, coordinating events and client activities, and delivering sales reports and market analyses. Requires Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) and 4+ years in hotel sales leadership; proficiency in CRM and Microsoft Office; strong communication, budgeting/forecasting, and relationship-building skills. Based in Houston, TX with on-site duties and occasional travel.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or equivalent industry experience
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in hotel sales, preferably in a leadership role
- Strong understanding of sales strategies, revenue management, and marketing initiatives
- Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to lead and manage a sales team, with experience in hiring, training, and performance evaluations
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and local business leaders
