Job Summary
Own sales and catering revenue strategy by building the quarterly sales plan that delivers negotiated and business transient volume. Lead the team in defending the downtown Austin corporate, legal, government, and tech account base while aggressively growing share against the comp set. Sell the non-traditional product, including the 8th-floor rooftop and 31st-floor penthouse, by packaging experiences for entertainment, film, and production businesses. Build a live prospecting pipeline through site inspections and local visibility, then partner with Revenue Management and Operations on forecasting and budgeting. Direct the sales team with clear activity expectations and run weekly reviews to maintain disciplined pace. Partner with the General Manager on total hotel performance and champion the brand through community and industry relationships.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of progressive hotel sales experience
- Experience leading a sales team
- Experience in a Director of Sales role
- Experience with direct client relationships
- Experience with consultative, relationship-driven selling
- Accustomed to meeting and exceeding sales and revenue goals
- Experience in a competitive urban market
- Demonstrated command of STR reporting
- Demonstrated command of booking pace
- Demonstrated command of market segmentation
- Demonstrated command of rate strategy
- Displays a magnitude of professionalism
- Excellent written skills
- Excellent verbal skills
- Excellent presentation skills
Desired Qualifications
- Full-service, lifestyle, boutique, or upper-upscale hotel sales experience
- Catering and banquet revenue ownership
- Proven production in negotiated selling
- Experience in business transient selling
- Ownership of local negotiated RFP season
- Downtown Austin or comparable urban market experience
- Hyatt brand experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business
