Job Summary

Direct and manage all group, transient, and catering sales activities to maximize hotel revenue while analyzing critical accounts and negotiating optimal pricing. Write and execute annual marketing plans, develop rate strategies, and oversee local advertising and public relations efforts. Recruit, train, and counsel sales staff, ensuring alignment with Affinia brand standards and 100% guest satisfaction policies. Conduct daily business reviews, strategic sales meetings, and management meetings to drive performance against budgeted room nights and revenue goals. Represent the hotel as an industry spokesperson in community and professional organizations.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven team leader with a high level of energy and motivation with a proven track record of living the company's values
  • Results oriented with an emphasis on both individual and team accountability
  • Has led a diverse staff, and is experienced in managing an organized labor work force
  • Minimum of five years of sales and marketing leadership in similar sized operation
  • Provides an issue free work environment through motivation, support, empowerment and development for all personnel
  • Proactively strives to build positive working relationships through teamwork and clear communication resulting in win/win decisions
  • Ensures that all decisions and resulting actions are aligned with the Affinia policy of 100% guest satisfaction producing a high level of service
  • Has a strategic perspective by continuously developing our brand and integrating it into every aspect of the guest experience
  • Proactively participates in the comprehensive sales and marketing efforts
  • Performs the role of industry spokesperson and representative for Affinia
  • Achieve and exceed budgeted room nights and revenue goals annually
  • Direct and manage all group, transient, and catering/banquet sales activities to maximize revenue for the hotel
  • Analyze and estimate total value of critical pieces of business/accounts and negotiate best situation for achieving optimum revenue for the hotel while ensuring excellent customer service
  • Assist Sales and Catering Managers in obtaining necessary customer information and closing business as required
  • Actively participate in sales presentations, property tours and customer meetings
  • Write and execute annual marketing plans in order to maintain as well as uncover new business
  • Develop rates, group ceilings and deployment strategies through review of competitive data, demand analysis and mix management
  • Works with Revenue Manager and GM to ensure accuracy for forecasting of revenues
  • Recruit, direct, manage, train and counsel sales staff. Oversee departmental matters as they relate to federal, state and local employment and civil rights laws
  • Conduct/attend daily business review meetings, weekly strategic sales meetings, management meetings and other meetings required/requested
  • Manage/direct all local advertising, public relations and promotional activities
  • Comply with Affinia brand standards and required approval process
  • Complete monthly sales activity reports and other required Trump Hotel Collection reports
  • Requires good communication skills both verbal and written
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Must possess leadership skills
  • Must possess computer skills, including but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Delphi
  • Knowledge of computer accounting programs, math skills as well as budgetary analysis capabilities required
  • Extensive knowledge of sales skills
  • Able to access/evaluate employees performance fairly
  • Extensive knowledge of revenue management
  • Ability to recruit, supervise, train, motivate and retain multiple levels of managers
  • Knowledge of hotel and competitive market
  • Ability to analyze data and establish appropriate action plans
  • Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language (level to be customized per position)
  • The ability to follow payroll and key sign out procedures
  • The ability to offer any assistance possible to guests
  • The ability to respond properly to any hotel emergency or safety situation
  • The ability to perform other tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management and staff
  • Comply with TIHTC work rules and standards per the associate handbook and as directed by management
  • Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and management
  • Visual One/Agilysys Knowledge
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Hospitality Degree
